Digital Radiography:
Our offices are utilizing digital radiography during your endodontic treatment. We use an advanced non-film digital sensor system that allows diagnostic imaging with dramatically lower radiation doses than previously possible using standard dental x-ray film.
The 3D Cone Beam Imaging System enables your endodontist to provide quicker and more accurate complex diagnosis and improved treatment strategies. This allows your doctor to view and analyze root canal anatomies, take accurate root canal measurements, determine nerve location and make important treatment decisions not possible with standard 2 dimensional radiographs. Calcifications, fractures, and the apex/sinus connection can be clearly viewed in great detail. Bone volume assessments needed for implant planning can easily be made right here in our office!
Operating Microscopes:In January 2010 our office implemented Electronic Medical Records (EMR). This state-of-the-art technology allows us to store our records digitally and provides easy access to all our patient information from any of our three office locations. EMR is a paperless approach to streamlining communication between doctors, patients and their referring practitioners. Our practice strictly complies with governmental HIPAA guidelines for protecting personal patient information. EMR is part of our commitment to continuous improvement.
An apex locator is an electronic device that helps your doctor measure root lengths with greater accuracy. Microscopes, tactile sensation, radiographs and apex locators all aid in creating better endodontic tratment results.
Ultrasonics:
Ultrasonic instruments are used in several ways. They help remove canal obstructions, open calcified (narrow) canals and aid in root-end filling during surgical endodontic treatment. Ultrasonics are also used to agitate antimicrobial rinses to further remove bacterial debris within the canal system.
